Sell your home the new way
Upstix wanted to increase the volume of properties that could be sold through their unique product, but the high-touch managed service was restricting their growth. We designed and engineered a fully automated web application that takes users from qualification to valuation, and then provides an instant offer on their property.
The traditional approach to selling a home is extremely complex and opaque. Our product design goal was to prioritise ease and speed, to reduce the steps that are required. This allowed users to go from getting an instant valuation, to an offer, while having transparency of the whole process. We leveraged their proprietary data to deliver valuable property insights to users, enabling them to make an informed decision to sell their home.
The architecture of the site was designed around quick iterations. UPSTIX is rapidly changing their positioning, so we needed to build an app that could match their speed of innovation while still establishing a stable foundation for future developments. The entire application is built using the JavaScript framework Nuxt.js. Nuxt allows us to have both a backend and a frontend in the same codebase, which are tightly integrated.
UPSTIX's original flow required users to input all their information into a form, and then the company would call them back. We developed a new way of asking users for this information: Social Auth (sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple) which led to a significant increase in sign-ups. We delivered this integration rapidly with a Supabase integration.
“&above embraces the scale-up challenge... and integrated with our marketing and technical team driving a significant uplift in performance.”
Fred Jones,
COO at Upstix
We ensured the site maximised accessibility which had a positive impact on the majority of users visiting on mobile devices. To expedite this development phase, we utilised shadcn/ui, which leverages Radix, this is becoming the standard for accessible component development.

Instead of Google Maps, which is costly to scale, we opted for MapBox which supports distance data using their navigation solution, and a GL JS Map rendering engine. We customised their implementation to include UPSTIX’s branding in the UI.
Digesting information from an external API can be challenging to enable type safety, as the expected outcome is often unknown. To address this, we implemented Zod, which allows the application to know what it expects to receive and how to handle that information. This makes building error-catching more specific to the endpoints.
The results:
78%
reduction in
operation costs
We created a new website that elevated the Upstix identity with a consistent design system and human imagery. With no existing brand assets, we used AI to generate a library of consistent images that reduced roll-out time of the website to under a month.
Upstix A/B tested the new brand imagery through digital ads, and it outperformed the existing creatives by 32%.

Using Webflow, we created a scalable and high performing site with templates for content creation, and product pages based on audience.
The results:
7x
